GRADO: Extruder throughput measuring

The mixer on the load cell determines extrusion throughput by measuring the weight of material dropping from the mixing chamber. This fast and accurate measurement provides a more efficient gravimetric control of extrusion throughput than that of competitor’s models. In fact, the latter install a level sensor in the mixing chamber to measure the time taken by the process to consume the batch volume discharged into the chamber. Obviously, throughput measurements determined in this way are not very accurate, affected by an error of scarce repeatability during level measurements, caused by the paddle continuously moving the material
